HARVEST REPORT 2015
The summer was dry with little rain from November ’14. Generally the Western Cape experienced heat and an earlier harvest.
In the Elgin Valley however we enjoyed cooler temperatures with slower ripening and no loss in natural acidity. The evening temperatures were on average 9-12 degrees Celsius with Day time temperatures rarely exceeding 30 degrees Celsius.
Cool summer winds were later than usual hence the longer slower ripening phase in the vineyard. Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc will benefit from this vintage and expectations are high!
